Environmental Pollution

Environmental Pollution

Pollution arises from the detrimental effects on the environment that are caused by chemical wastes. Often, environmental pollution is divided into few types such as pollution of the atmosphere, water supplies, and the soil. There are a number of pollutants that includes organic or inorganic compounds, high concentrations of normally innocuous compounds, and noise and heat. Most of the pollution is generated by the chemical industry, the domestic sources include automobile exhaust and human waste. While physical sources like light and noise of population are essential, people often notice the chemical pollution damage on plant life and animals. Moreover, these chemicals can efficiently react with the tissues within the body and alter the function and structure of the organ, which leads to abnormal growth and can cause cancer as well. The study of the poison effect on the body is known as toxicology. One of the principles of toxicology states that the chemical dose determines the complete impacts and that the maximum number of chemicals can be considered as dangerous at excessive exposures. Petroleum and chemical industries contribute to the atmospheric pollution by releasing organic and inorganic gases and particularities into the air. Moreover, the atmosphere is a paper-thin layer of gas which protects the earth from damaging ultraviolet and cosmic radiation.

Types of pollution

There are some primary environmental issues which are causing immense concern such as climate change, resource depletion, deforestation, noise pollution, garbage pollution, water pollution, air pollution and environmental pollution. Pollution in all forms is considered as the major environmental issue across the world. Any undesirable change in the soil, land, water, air can be called pollution. Some of the types of pollutions are discussed below:

Air pollution: When the environment is completely filled with organic, non-organic or toxic gases released as a result of chemical or industrial activities, it leads to air pollution.

Water pollution: There is a very limited amount of water which can be used by the human, even though some people are polluting it often. Water pollution caused by industrial waste and garbage waste which is increasing because of the chemical industry as well as the people of the countries.

Garbage Pollution: When we do not follow appropriate principles for waste disposal mechanisms, waste accumulates, causing garbage pollution. Thus, the only way to introduce this problem is to ensure an appropriate waste disposal system which does not contaminate the environment.

Thermal pollution: It is a type of pollution in which the temperature change in natural water bodies caused by the interference of human such as excessive use of water as a coolant within a power plant.
